Can Anyone Surpass Him?

Meet Jackson Taliesin, a fourth grader, who last year read more than a million words to take the top spot in the Mt. View Elementary’s Reading Counts Program. His love of books and reading came early in life.

“My parents used to read to me when I was small and by second grade I was reading to myself,” he said.

Jackson said J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, and “The Deathly Hollows” and “The Half-Blood Prince” in particular are among his favorite books, but said he reads a lot of news and tech-jackson pictalk stuff at home too.

This year he is currently reading the “How to Train Your Dragon” series by Cressida Cowell and is hoping to take-in more two-million words to claim top honors again. Will he do it. Time will tell.
